How to Set Up Your Tag Palette

Define a shared set of colour-coded tags for your workspace so your team can label opportunities, contacts, and customers consistently.

What is the tag palette?

The tag palette is a workspace-wide list of named, colour-coded tags that appear as one-click options whenever someone adds a tag to an opportunity. Rather than everyone typing free-form labels, you define the tags once and your whole team picks from the same list.

Tags can be applied to opportunities across any pipeline. They are shared across the workspace one palette, every team member.

Where to find it

Go to https://app.trustpager.com/settings/crm and scroll to the Tag Palette section.

Adding a tag

  1. Type a name in the New tag name field.
  2. Pick a colour from the colour picker below the field. Available colours: Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, Purple, Pink, Cyan, Emerald, Amber, and Gray.
  3. A live preview of the tag badge appears as you type.
  4. Click Add (or press Enter) to save.

Changes save instantly there is no separate Save button to click.

Editing or removing a tag

Hover over any existing tag in the list. Two buttons appear on the right:

  • Edit update the name or colour. Press Enter or click the tick to confirm.
  • Remove deletes the tag from the palette. This does not remove tags that have already been applied to records.

Using tags on opportunities

Open any opportunity and click Add Tag. Your palette tags appear as quick-pick chips click one to apply it instantly. You can also type a custom tag that is not in the palette.

Managing tags via the API or AI agents

AI agents and API integrations can read and update the tag palette using the get_tag_palette and update_tag_palette tools. Each tag in the palette is a JSON object with a name (string) and a color (hex colour string, e.g. #3b82f6).

Troubleshooting

  • Tag already exists error tag names are case-insensitive and must be unique. Try a different name.
  • Palette not visible you need admin access to edit the palette. Read-only users can see and apply tags but cannot manage the palette list.
