Save and Reuse Timeline Templates on Opportunities

How to save your delivery phases as a reusable Timeline template, load a saved template onto any opportunity, and manage your template library — all from the Timeline card.

The Timeline card appears on every opportunity and lets you map out the delivery phases for that job — start dates, end dates, labels, and progress. Once you've built a phase structure you're happy with, you can save it as a template and load it onto any other opportunity in seconds. Templates are shared across your workspace, so your whole team can use them.

Where to find the Timeline card

Open any opportunity at https://app.trustpager.com/crm/opportunities and scroll to the Timeline card in the sidebar. If no phases have been added yet, you'll see an empty state with the message No timeline phases and an option to add your first one.

Saving a template

Once you've added phases to an opportunity's Timeline, click the Template ▾ button at the top of the card. Select Save as Template from the dropdown, give it a name that describes the delivery structure (e.g. "6-Week Onboarding" or "Standard Project"), then save. The template is now available to anyone in your workspace.

Loading a template onto an opportunity

On any opportunity — including one with no phases yet — click the Template ▾ button. Your saved templates appear in the list. Click one to load it. The phases from the template are added to the opportunity's Timeline. You can then adjust dates, rename phases, or add extras to suit that specific job — the template is a starting point, not a lock-in.

Managing your templates

Templates are stored in your CRM Templates library at https://app.trustpager.com/crm/templates under the Timeline type. From there you can rename or delete templates you no longer need. Changes to a template don't affect opportunities that have already loaded it — each opportunity holds its own copy of the phases.

Tip: If your business runs a similar delivery process for most clients, save your standard phase structure as a default template. Your team can load it on every new opportunity in one click and spend their time adjusting dates rather than rebuilding from scratch.
