If you use WhatsApp groups with your clients — a group with a borrower and their broker, a project group with a client and their accountant — TrustPager can connect those groups to your opportunities so all the messages flow straight into the deal timeline.
How groups appear in TrustPager
You do not need to manually import groups. TrustPager discovers them automatically: as soon as a message arrives in a group conversation after you have connected your WhatsApp, that group appears in the Groups tab inside the WhatsApp inbox at https://app.trustpager.com/inbox/whatsapp.
Groups that existed before you connected will appear once a new message arrives in them — TrustPager does not back-fill historical group messages.
Linking a group to a deal
To link a group to an opportunity:
- Go to https://app.trustpager.com/inbox/whatsapp and click the Groups tab.
- Click into the group thread you want to link.
- In the group thread, click Link to deal. A search picker will appear.
- Search for the opportunity by name or contact and select it.
The group is now linked. You will see the opportunity name displayed in the group thread header.
The group thread page URL follows the pattern https://app.trustpager.com/inbox/whatsapp/groups/<group_id> — you can bookmark it or share it with a teammate.
Where group messages appear after linking
Once a group is linked to an opportunity, every new message in that group flows to two places simultaneously:
- The deal timeline — messages appear on the opportunity's activity feed, so anyone working the deal can see the conversation in context alongside emails, calls, and notes.
- The WhatsApp inbox Groups tab — the conversation remains fully accessible at https://app.trustpager.com/inbox/whatsapp under Groups, so you can reply from there too.
Messages in unlinked groups appear only in the inbox and do not show on any deal timeline.
Unlinking a group
To remove the link between a group and a deal, open the group thread at https://app.trustpager.com/inbox/whatsapp (Groups tab) and click Unlink from deal. The group stays in your inbox but messages will no longer appear on the deal's timeline going forward. Past messages that already landed on the timeline remain there.
Sending to a linked group via automations
Once a group is linked to an opportunity, you can target it from the Send WhatsApp automation action. In the action configuration, choose Linked WhatsApp group as the recipient target. The message will be sent into the group conversation, and it will show on the deal timeline like any other group message.
