How to Use the Next Action Card on Opportunities

Keep every opportunity moving with the Next Action card. Set a reminder or generate a Google Meet link directly from the opportunity sidebar.

The Next Action card sits on the opportunity sidebar and gives you one clear place to record what happens next with that opportunity: a scheduled follow-up, a meeting, or just a note to yourself. It keeps your pipeline honest by making sure no opportunity sits idle without a next step.

Adding a Next Action

Open any opportunity at https://app.trustpager.com/crm/opportunities. On the right-hand sidebar you'll see the Next Action card. Click Add Action and choose from the dropdown:

  • Reminder: set a date and time for a follow-up action. TrustPager will remind you when it's due.
  • Google Meet: generates an ad-hoc Google Meet link immediately. This is a one-off link, not tied to your scheduler or event types. Use it when you want to share a meeting link right now without going through your booking page.

Reminders

When you add a Reminder, pick the date, time, and a short description of what you need to do. The reminder appears on your dashboard and in your activity feed when it's due. You can mark it complete or reschedule it from the opportunity sidebar.

Google Meet Links

Clicking Add Action and choosing Google Meet generates a fresh Meet link attached to that opportunity. You'll see the link in the Next Action card: copy it and share it directly with your contact. The meeting is logged against the opportunity automatically.

If you want your contact to self-book a time slot from your availability, use your booking page link instead. See https://trustpager.com/help-center/online-booking-scheduling.

Booked meetings and the Next Action card

When someone books a meeting with you, it shows on that opportunity's Next Action card automatically. This happens for any event type with the update Next Action setting switched on, which is the default.

The card also keeps itself tidy. When a booking is cancelled, marked no-show or marked attended, the meeting comes off the Next Action card on its own. That applies however the booking was cancelled: from the Portal, from the booking management link, through the API, by the voice agent, by the email or SMS assistant, or by deleting the event in Google Calendar.

  • Another meeting is booked? If the opportunity has another confirmed upcoming booking, the card shows that one instead of going empty.
  • Renamed the event type? It doesn't matter. Cancelling, no-show and attended still clear the meeting from the card even if the event type was renamed after the booking was made.
  • Changed it yourself? If you have moved the Next Action to a different time by hand since the booking, TrustPager leaves your version alone.
  • Using automations? If you have an automation that sets its own Next Action when a booking is cancelled or marked no-show, your automation wins, because it runs after the card is cleared.

Completing or Dismissing an Action

Once you've done the thing, mark the action complete from the opportunity sidebar. Completed actions are logged to the opportunity's activity history so you have a full record of what happened and when.

Tip: Make it a habit to always have a next action set before you close an opportunity view. An opportunity with no next action is one that quietly falls through the cracks.
